What are medical scrubs?
Medical scrubs are the standard clinical workwear worn by healthcare professionals including doctors, nurses, surgeons, dental staff, veterinary teams and care assistants. They typically consist of a V-neck scrub top with chest and side pockets, paired with straight-leg scrub trousers. Scrubs are designed to be hygienic, comfortable and easy to launder at high temperatures — the preferred uniform across NHS hospitals, private clinics, GP surgeries and care settings throughout the UK.
What is the difference between men's, women's and unisex medical scrubs?
Unisex scrubs feature a straight relaxed cut designed to fit all body types. Men's scrubs are cut with a wider shoulder and straighter body. Women's scrubs feature shaped side seams, a fitted waist and shorter body for a tailored silhouette. All three styles are available in XS to 5XL. Many healthcare professionals prefer the unisex cut for comfort during long shifts, while others prefer the shaped women's cut for a more professional fitted appearance.
What fabrics are your medical scrubs available in?
Our medical scrubs are available in three fabric constructions: Poly Cotton (195 GSM) — durable, breathable and structured for everyday clinical use. Four-Way Stretch (Polyester 71% / Rayon 22% / Spandex 7%, 195 GSM) — premium stretch offering full freedom of movement, ideal for active clinical and surgical roles. Mechanical Stretch (100% Polyester, 145–150 GSM) — lightest option, moisture-wicking and quick-drying. Full details on each product page.
What colours are medical scrubs available in?
Our medical scrubs are available in a wide range of colours to suit NHS colour-coding and clinic branding requirements. Colours include hospital blue, navy blue, royal blue, ciel blue, surgical green, hunter green, bottle green, burgundy, maroon, black, storm grey, light grey, teal, lilac, purple, electric blue and more. Availability varies by style and fabric — full colour options shown on each product page.
How do I wash medical scrubs?
Our medical scrubs are machine washable at 40°C for standard care, or 60°C for infection control requirements. Wash inside out to preserve colour. Tumble dry on low heat or line dry to maintain shape. Do not iron directly on embroidered logos. Our fabrics withstand frequent high-temperature washing without shrinking or colour fading.
Can I get medical scrubs embroidered with my name or logo?
Yes. We offer professional in-house embroidery on all medical scrubs. Add your NHS trust name, clinic logo, department name, job title or individual name. Placement options include left chest, right chest, sleeve and back. One-off setup fee is £3.45 per design — never charged again on repeat orders. Minimum order is just one garment.
Are medical scrubs suitable for theatre and surgical use?
Yes. Our medical scrubs are suitable for theatre, surgical and clinical ward use. Our poly-cotton range provides the structured appearance required in clinical settings. Our mechanical stretch and four-way stretch ranges offer additional freedom of movement for active surgical and theatre roles. All fabrics can be washed at 60°C for infection control compliance in line with NHS laundry guidelines.
How quickly are medical scrubs delivered across the UK?
